Everything you need to arrive sorted. A few details are still being confirmed and are marked as such.

Festival hours

Gates open 9.30am on Saturday and Sunday. The opening ceremony, Māori culture and kapa haka, starts at 10am Saturday. The Health & Wellness Zone runs 11am to 3pm Saturday and 10am to 3pm Sunday, the market and food village 9.30am to 4pm, and Saturday Night Live 2pm to 11pm. Friday night runs 5pm to 11pm on the Main Stage. The closing ceremony is 3.30pm Sunday.

Getting there

RISE Fest is at Marchwood Park, Motueka, in the heart of the township, Tasman. It is an easy walk from the town centre. Carpooling and cycling are encouraged. Parking arrangements are being finalised and will be posted here before the festival.

Camping

Camping tickets include your campsite on the ground. The early bird covers all three nights. Under 18s camp at half price, and under 10s are free. The camping arrival window is still being confirmed and will be published here, so hold off before locking in travel around a set arrival time. Toilets and water are on site. Bring your own tent, bedding and shade. Campers take their own rubbish away when they go, and no glassware on site.

Stallholder load-in

Stallholders load in on Friday between 9am and 3pm. Everyone needs to be set up and in before 3pm on Friday, ready for the weekend. Your placement and power details are confirmed with your booking. No glassware, and stallholders take their own rubbish away at the end of the weekend.

Closing ceremony

Sunday winds down into a closing ceremony at 3.30pm that brings the whole festival together to finish. It closes everything out. Stay for it, it is the best part.

What to bring

A refillable water bottle, sun hat and sunscreen, a picnic blanket or low chair, warm layers for the evenings, and cash as a backup. If you are camping, bring your full kit: tent, bedding, torch and shade.

R18 rules

The Friday DJ session and the licensed stage are strictly over-18. The $25 Friday ticket is Main Stage access only, 5pm to 11pm. On Saturday the licensed stage runs 2pm to 11pm and is R18 from 5pm, and is ticketed separately at $49 with Tiki Taane headlining. Everything else on Saturday, the Family Entertainment Stage, the Wellness Zone, the market and food village, stays all ages. Sunday is completely alcohol-free. Bring photo ID. No ID, no entry, no exceptions.

Zero-waste ethos

RISE Fest runs light on the land. Food vendors use minimal, biodegradable packaging and local ingredients are championed. There is no glassware anywhere on site, for campers, stallholders and everyone. Campers and stallholders take their own rubbish away, and we ask every visitor to bin thoughtfully. Leave the ground as good as we found it.

How much does it cost to bring my family?

The flat family day rate is $10 for a family of 4/5, paid at the gate or bought online. Adults on their own are $3 for the day, and children under 5 are free. Camping the whole weekend is $169 for the first 100 early-bird tickets. Under 18s camp at $64.50, and under 10s are free.

Which parts are R18?

There will be more than 50 food carts across the weekend, from full meals to sweet treats. You are also welcome to bring a picnic for the all-ages areas. Bring a refillable water bottle.

What happens if it rains?

RISE Fest is a rain-or-shine summer festival. Bring layers and a raincoat just in case, and check this site before you head in for any weather updates.

When can stallholders set up?

Stallholder load-in is Friday from 9am to 3pm, and everyone needs to be in and set up before 3pm. Apply for a stall through the Get Involved page.

How do I apply to have a stall, play, or run a workshop?

Head to Get Involved. Stallholders apply through the stall form, bands, musicians and artists through the artist form, wellness practitioners and workshop hosts through the wellness form, and volunteers through the volunteer form. Every rate this year is half price, our first-year launch rate.

Is the festival accessible?

Marchwood Park is flat and grassed with accessible toilets on site. If you have specific access needs, get in touch through the Contact page and we will help you plan your visit.

Are dogs allowed?

For the comfort and safety of the crowds, performers and food areas, RISE Fest is not a dog-friendly event, aside from registered assistance dogs.

How do I buy tickets?

Tickets are available through our online booking page. Use any Get Tickets button on this site, which opens the booking page in a new tab. Day entry and the family day pass can also be paid at the gate on the day.

Who is playing in 2027?

Tiki Taane is confirmed for the Saturday Main Stage, joined by Sun City Soul, Rinholio and Matiu Te Huki. Friday night is a mixed-genre DJ session curated by Optimus Gryme. More names to come.
